MTCE Spring Meeting 2017: Ireland

Wild and beautiful, inspiring and exciting, Ireland's energy and romance will win you over in an instant. Ireland has it all. From the haunting beauty of the pure, unspoiled landscapes and the drama of the coastline, to the urban buzz of the country's dynamic cities mixed with the magic of thousands of years' worth of culture and history, Ireland is a country that never fails to surprise.

Me meet in Cork city, a medium size town which is easy to get around on foot. There are plenty of shops, restaurants and of course bars.

From here we will travel along the coast road which has some beautiful scenery, beaches, villages and dramatic coastline. Our destination will be Gougane Barra where there is a nice hotel nestled in a valley surrounded by hills with a lake and an enclosed forest with a circular walk around it. This place is magical and must be experienced at some time in your lives.

The next day we travel around the Bearra Peninsula, again amazing scenery and some really good biking roads, we then travel to our second destination on the Ring of Kerry, again a coastal rout with mountains on one side and the sea on the other. The Ring of Kerry is well known for its beauty. We will stay in Waterville overlooking the Skelligs rising out of the Atlantic like giant tombstones. This is where the last Starwars Movie was filimed.

IrelandWe will hopefully have recovered from these spectacular days next day since riding now will be even more breathe taking.

We will travel around the Dingle peninsula, on the way we will travel through Tralee town and on towards the Conor pass and down into Dingle town. The Connor pass is up a very narrow road carved out of a mountain side with steep drop offs on one side. When we get to the top there is a parking area where we will stop for photos.

We will travel around the Dingle Peninsula and back into North Kerry where we will spend our third night.

The following days we will experience County Clare where we will visit The cliffs of Moher, the tallest sea cliffs in Europe. The Burren, a spectacular area of exposed limestone, the topsoil was removed by flowing ice during the Ice Age. What is left is like a lunar landscape. We will also have an Irish night consisting of a 3 course meal, Irish music, dancing and storytelling and lots of beer.

The trip will end in County Galway stopping in Galway city for a look at this beautiful City before travelling north to experience more coastal roads and amazing scenery.

Ride the wind, Race the rain, Chase the sunset: Only a biker who has visited Ireland understands. You will never forget this unique adventure.

The tour will be from May 21st to May 27th, 2017.
